A note about Acupuncture for Back Pain TreatmentIn natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases. In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. Taking these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of certain holistic remedies. Some reasons for back pain include straining and stretching some of the ligaments in the back causing a tear in the muscle. This could be because of a fall or incorrect posture and lifting heavy objects straining the back in the process. Other possible reasons for back pain could be because of a slipped disc where the disc will protrude out of its position between two vertebrae. Another reason for back pain could be sciatica. Sciatica is a condition where the pain extends from the back to the buttocks and radiates to the leg and this is caused due to tenderness to a nerve called the sciatic nerve in the lumbar spine. This condition can be in conjunction with other aches, pains, sprains, and herniated discs. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM, back pain can be classified into the following patterns: The first variety of back pain originates due to deficiencies and the nature of this pain is dull and nagging which subsides with rest. This pain occurs mostly in middle aged people and in elderly people. The second type of back pain is more intense in comparison. It is often described to be a stabbing kind of pain. Patients experience stiffness and tightening sensations in the muscles of the back and pain increases while resting. Sprains and strains generally cause this variety of back pain. It is generally recurring in nature which points at underlying deficiencies. The third variety of pain which results from cold damp obstruction increases in the early hours i.e., morning and is worse in cold and damp weather, which is why it is referred to as cold and damp pain. There could be tingling sensation accompanied with swelling and heaviness. People suffering back pain of this kind experience significant reduction in pain with heat applications. Acupuncture for back pain treatment is holistic in nature and treats both the physiological and psychological aspects of the problem. Acupuncture for back pain treatment will involve inserting fine and sharp needles at certain key trigger points in an attempt to manipulate and maneuver the soft tissue. This will set right certain distortions and mechanical imbalances in the human body. Acupuncture for back pain treatment is initially localized to certain key trigger points and later will involve a more holistic approach and engage the entire human body. This is an attempt to fix the imbalance in the autonomic nervous system. Here, acupuncture for back pain treatment will result in reducing the extra stimulation of the sympathetic system and increase the activity of the parasympathetic system. This will result in a relaxed state of muscles. Most problems are related to stress and tension, and once this is released, the rest of the body will heal itself.
