In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies. As time goes by, however, they deepen into permanent lines that often do not go away, even when we are not smiling, laughing or involved in some other facial expression. There are so many products and procedures today that promise to reduce wrinkles, and it's difficult to figure out which is the best wrinkle treatment. Some do very little (watch the wording of an advertisement), while others can and do achieve success. Skin ages all over our bodies, beginning at the same time and would do so evenly except for factors such as sun exposure, which causes aging in some areas to be greatly accelerated. Photo aging (what takes place due to the sun) includes dry or roughness, skin growths or discoloration such as liver spots (keratoses), sagginess, and wrinkles. Wrinkles appear where the exposure has been the greatest - all parts of the face, the neck, arms, and the backs of the hands; the legs also, if you have worked in warm weather and shorts most of your life. There are two categories of wrinkles - fine surface lines (around the eyes) and deep furrows (foreheads, around the mouth and along the cheeks). The best wrinkle treatments are generally more effective when they deal with the fine surface lines. Most of the treatments on the market are geared toward these fine lines. Even ordinary moisturizing creams can make these wrinkles look less prominent, though that is only temporarily. Creams that contain tretinoin (retinoids), generally offered by prescription, only have the best track record for these fine lines and some of the slightly deeper ones. They must be used continually for the process to be effective, as they do not provide a permanent cure and they do cause the skin to be more sensitive to the sun. Alpha-hydroxy acids, also called fruit acids, are prepared from natural fruit acids. They are safe, cause little irritation, and do produce some subtle results. Anti oxidants (vitamins A, B complex, C and E) do much the same. They are naturally found in foods and are powerful nutrients that protect the body from free radicals as well as diseases such as cancer. They provide protection from the sun and do well with fine lines. Could these nutrients be the best wrinkle treatment? Diet and proper hydration are still the best method of remaining wrinkle free, and certainly should be considered an important part of the best wrinkle treatment. Choose foods (fruits and vegetables) that are brightly colored, as these benefit the skin best (berries are very good). Eat a variety of both, either fresh or frozen, including bell peppers, spinach, Brussels sprouts, avocado and tomatoes. Opt for lean turkey fillets as well as fish (wild salmon), eggs, soy products, nuts and seeds. All of these foods provide the right type of fats also. Go easy on the diary, as it is hard on the system, and aside from the carbohydrate obtained through eating vegetables (best kind), eat plenty of whole grains, legumes, lentils and beans.
