Overcoming Fibromyalgia Fatigue - Tips and Remedies

What are some good ways and remedies for dealing with fibromyalgia fatigue?

Although fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue are separate things, both are related and share a fatigue that can disrupt the sufferer's life. While there is still not a medical cure for either one, there are ways to help treat the symptoms that go with both, in an attempt to restore quality of life to the sufferer.

One of the first steps when it comes to a person suffering from fibromyalgia and fatigue is to check and make sure that the fatigue isn't coming from someplace else, like low blood count or a thyroid problem. Other things might be checked when it comes to fatigue and fibromyalgia. These include allergies, respiratory problems, large tonsils, and breathing problems. Sleep apnea is ruled out as well. These can oftentimes be treated a lot easier than trying to treat fibromyalgia fatigue.

A note about Overcoming Fibromyalgia Fatigue - Tips and Remedies

In natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases.

In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies.

It is very important to improve the sleep of a person who suffers from fibromyalgia. Not only does sleep quality affect fatigue, but deep sleep gives a person's body the chance to repair itself at night. Sleep can also improve pain and a person's overall mood. A lot of people who suffer from fibromyalgia fatigue might find that they are sleeping a lot, but that the quality of their sleep is not good.

If there does not appear to be any obvious medical problems, then making lifestyle adjustments are other ways that can improve sleep quality. Patients are often advised to keep nighttime stimuli at a low. This includes limiting noise and light. Keeping the room at an even temperature that is neither too hot nor too cold is also important, as is having good pillows and bedding.

People suffering from fibromyalgia fatigue are advised against taking a nap during the day, and if they do need to nap, to limit it to 45 minutes. Stress reduction can also be important. Meditation, yoga, and light exercise can all be utilized in order to help promote relaxation. Taking a warm bath before bedtime and limiting caffeine and sugar consumption in the evening can also help stimulate sleep.

Although people who are suffering from fatigue and fibromyalgia might find that exercising is the last thing that they want to do, getting enough regular exercise is important. Exercise can promote endorphins, which can have a positive effect on a person's overall mood. Exercise can also help with fibromyalgia fatigue.

If you aren't into running or don't like the idea of going to a gym, then you can benefit from water exercises, which are a lot more tolerable to people who have fibromyalgia because it is easier on the joints.

Lastly, it is important to pace yourself. When a person suffering from fibromyalgia starts feeling good, they often try to overdo it, which can actually cause a setback. Instead, it is important to do everything in moderation. Don't give up on exercise or exercise too much, for example.

If something doesn't work at first, then you might need to give it a little longer before you decide that you don't want to try it any more. It is also often helpful to set up a daily routine in order to promote consistency in battling fibromyalgia fatigue.
