A note about Genital Warts Medication - Pointers, Tips and Remedies to NoteIn natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases. In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies. Genital warts are one of the most common STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) and, as the name suggests, is a wart affecting the warm areas surrounding the genitals. Genital warts are typically small in size and flesh colored. They can arise alone or in multiples called clusters. In women, warts grow on the inner walls of the vagina or the vulva. In men, the warts are normally seen on the scrotum or the tip of the penis. They can form around the anus in both sexes. Genital warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV) and can appear anytime within the first few months of a person being exposed. Itching, discomfort and burning often accompany genital warts, although many people who contract the disease suffer no signs and symptoms at all. Once you have been diagnosed, there are several genital warts medications available for use. There are genital warts medication products that come in cream form (Imiquimod and podofilox) that have been designed to help your body's own immune abilities. This is critical in the fact that it is within the immune system where the destiny of all illnesses can be allowed or altered. Herbs such as echinacea and astragalus can aid the immune system at this time, and they work well with warts. Other types of creams actually destroy the tissue of the genital warts. Warts located on or within the moist areas of the genitals respond better to topical treatments rather than other genital warts medications. The good thing about these creams is that they can be self administered, just not during pregnancy. There are several genital warts medications that are similar but are not recommended for home use. A new vaccine called Gardasil was approved for the market in 2006. It does not cure the human papilloma virus, but has supposedly been proven effective in the prevention of both warts and cervical cancer. Any treatment of genital warts decided on should be a joint effort of physician and sufferer. It should reflect the experience of the caregiver as well as the preference of the patient. Factors to consider are the size of the warts, the number, the cost, convenience, and any potential side effects. Most people need to undergo a therapy regime rather than a treatment or two. Regimes often take up to three months, so do not waste valuable time if you do not begin to see results within the first few weeks. Genital warts should be treated even though the virus may go away on its own over time, as they are very contagious, not just from person to person, but from one body part to another on the same body. Always practice cleanliness - hand washing, etc, and be sure to talk with anyone you plan to have sex with. The best medicine against the human papilloma virus is safe sex, and the best medicine once the virus has been contracted is a healthy immune system. Bear these points in mind as you seek genital warts medication. It is especially important to eat well during this time, to cut out certain foods, and to focus on wholesome choices in their raw state if at all possible. Goldenrod has natural antibiotic properties, as does the herb garlic, which can also help to promote the extra white blood cells that will be needed for the body to fight off infection. These are useful natural, herbal genital warts medication. For more tips on genital warts remedies and treatments, do read the other related warts articles and pages on this website.
