Anti HPV Cream - Discussion on this Treatment

Here, the use of an anti HPV cream for the treatment of HPV is discussed.

It is estimated that approximately 50% of all sexually active adults contract HPV (human papilloma-virus) in their lifetime, but because the virus may not cause signs and symptoms, it often goes undetected.

Sometimes, however, it does develop into something more serious, such as genital warts or cervical cancer.

There are several types of HPV causing different diseases. The type that develops into genital warts is considered low risk, while another high-risk type can cause cervical cancer. Genital warts do not develop into cancer over time (even if left untreated), and sufferers can have more than one type at the same time.

The choice of treatment for genital warts is based on the site, the number of warts, and / or the size the warts are reaching. It is also dependant on patient preference, cost verses insurance, convenience, particular side effects, etc.

Warts can be successfully frozen with liquid nitrogen before removal, or they can be treated with a variety of medications, such as a HPV cream that is applied directly to the affected area (warts) by the patient or his / her physician.

Because the human papilloma-virus has become more prevalent in recent years, the need for treatment has become increasingly more necessary as well; hence, HPV creams, which act against the viruses that cause genital herpes as well as genital warts, have become popular. One such bio-oxidive cream, made by infusing a powerful anti-viral agent with oxygen, not only controls the diseases, but is capable of killing the viruses that cause them.

This is possible because HPV viruses are primarily anaerobic (does not need oxygen), so it cannot exist in the elevated oxygen environments created by the HPV cream. Influenza, measles, herpes and genital warts are all anaerobic. They exist, and can reproduce, only because they are doing so in an environment that is exposed to little or no oxygen. When the cellular oxygen levels of the surroundings in which they are multiplying are significantly raised, these viruses cannot multiply, nor can they survive.

Another interesting fact about the HPV viruses is that they carry a positive charge, which makes them particularly susceptible to treatments that have been formulated using oxygenation. Because the outer orbits of the oxygen molecules have electrons missing, these molecules are constantly seeking electrons to replace what they are missing. When the oxygen molecules do find positively charged (anaerobic) organisms, they at once remove the needed electrons from their outer orbits, killing the harmful microorganisms in the process.

There are two HPV creams on the market generally getting positive reviews. Both are self applied creams for the treatment of external genital warts as well as being less expensive than treatment performed in a physician's office. They are safe, easy to use, and take about the same amount of time to complete.

The Podofilox cream or gel can cause irritation and / or soreness and should not be used by pregnant women. The Imiquimod cream, which can cause irritation also, works by destroying the wart tissue. It is an immune response modifier which boosts the immune system while fighting the virus itself.
