A note about Signs of a Yeast Infection - Common Symptoms for Men, Women and BabiesIn natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases. In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies. Knowing what the signs and symptoms of a yeast infection are can help you determine whether or not you have one and what course of action you should take in treating the infection. For vaginal yeast infections, some of the signs can include redness, itching, burning, and general irritation of the area surrounding the vagina. There might even be some swelling present as well. For the most part, one of the most prominent signs of a yeast infection in the vagina is a thicker than normal discharge. It could resemble cottage cheese and might be greenish or gray in tint. Women might also notice pain when urinating or during sexual intercourse. An infant with a yeast infection might have the infection inside their mouth or in their diaper area. The infection in the diaper area might resemble a diaper rash at first. Over time, however, it will not respond to treatment and will usually turn red and scaly. If the infant has an infection inside their mouth, then it could resemble milk. In fact, you might mistake the yeast infection for milk in the beginning, but discover that it won't come out when you try to use a washcloth. As other possible signs of a yeast infection, you might also become aware of the fact that your infant is fussier than usual and doesn't want to eat. This can be an indication that the yeast infection inside their mouth is bothering them and affecting the way that they are taking in food. If you are breastfeeding, you might also get a yeast infection around your nipples, which can then be transferred back and forth between you and your baby. It's important to clear up the infection on your breasts so that the infant doesn't continue to get the infection as well. The signs of the infection can be red, itchy, and scaly rashes, as well as breast tenderness. For men and boys, the symptoms and signs of a yeast infection can include bad breath, indigestion, constipation, diarrhea, itchy flaky skin, and general itching in the genital area. Tenderness and pain after sex, as well as swelling of the glans, are also signs of yeast infections in men. Oddly enough, men tend to get cravings, too, as a lot of their symptoms tend to be neurological. Keep in mind that not everyone gets the same symptoms with each yeast infection. It is also possible that it's not a yeast infection, but something else. For instance, if there is itching and sensitivity present, it could be an allergic reaction caused by soaps that you are using or any new products that you have introduced to your body, and not signs of a yeast infection. Likewise, pain and fever associated with discharge, burning, and itching could be a sign of a different kind of infection or even pelvic inflammatory disease, which is a very serious matter. If you're unsure as to whether or not you have a yeast infection, then you should consult a physician before embarking on any treatment plan - professional help can help you figure out if you are indeed displaying symptoms and signs of a yeast infection.
