A note about Varicose Vein Pain Relief - Natural Treatments and Home RemediesIn natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases. In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies. If you have only mild varicose veins pain, then you usually don't have to see your health care practitioner. In fact, there are things that you can do yourself at home to make yourself more comfortable. Some people that find simply wearing support stockings, which can be purchased in most medical supply stores or even pharmacies, can lend comfort to varicose vein pain. Support stockings are able to help push the blood upwards in your legs, which can take some of the pressure off. For the best effects, they should be worn throughout the day. Acupuncture and acupressure might be able to help the varicose veins from getting worse, as well as from being too painful. These treatments will not get rid of varicose veins, however, but they can treat the symptoms that the veins present. You can also try using aromatherapy for pain relief. Cypress and geranium essential oils can both be useful when it comes to varicose vein pain. Use 12 drops of each oil and mix them in sunflower, almond, or soy oil. You can then put the mixture onto your legs. Instead of massaging the veins, however, focus on the areas around the veins. Work in an upwards motion. Oil of rosemary can also be massaged into your skin to help stimulate circulation in your legs. In addition, chamomile oil has a soothing effect and can help reduce inflammation and act as a pain reliever, too. Constipation can often make varicose veins worse because it can cause straining. To help alleviate constipation, you should try to eat a diet that is high in fiber. Make sure that you are eating plenty of fruits, whole grains, vegetables, and legumes in order to get at least 30 grams of fiber per day. Cherries and blackberries can also help prevent varicose veins to start with. Horse chestnut is one herbal remedy that might be effective in treating varicose vein pain. However, you should not use this herb if you have kidney or liver disease, of if you are pregnant or nursing. When used externally, it can help with venous circulation. It can help to use hydrotherapy for the alleviation of pain as well. You should alternate between taking baths that are cold and hot. This can help encourage circulation in your legs. To do this, you should fill one container with hot water and one container with cold water. Of course, you want to take care that you don't burn yourself. Place 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt into the containers. You can also add aromatherapy oils if you desire. Place your legs in the hot water for a couple of minutes and then remove them and immediately place them in the cold water for about 30 seconds. Alternate between hot and cold 3 to 4 times. Carry out this varicose vein pain relief routine several times per week. It might take a couple of weeks before you start seeing results. Lastly, paying attention to your fitness can help in preventing varicose veins from forming in the first place. Make sure that you walk, swim, and exercise your legs frequently. However, remember that strenuous exercises, such as running or jogging, can actually make the varicose vein pain worse, because it increases your blood pressure. It is very important that the pain in your legs does not become too severe. There is a problem known as deep varicose veins that can occur and this should be taken very seriously.
