A note about Natural Ways to Manage StressIn natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases. In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies. In fact, stress and anxiety can actually decrease a person's overall quality of life. Many people are visiting their physician for prescriptions for anxiety and depression. Stress isn't always bad. In fact, a person needs a consistent amount of stress in his or her life. Stress can be a great motivator, for instance. However, bad stress, and too much stress, can lead to health problems and anxiety. Thankfully, there are ways to manage stress naturally without rushing off to your physician's office. First, you need to find the source of the stress in your life. Does your cluttered garage or basement make you stressed? Is your job having an impact on your emotional or physical wellbeing? Are there relationships in your life that are causing you an undue amount of stress? Oftentimes, you are aware of the stress triggers in your life. Sometimes, you might just feel stressed in general. It is important, though, to try to pinpoint the main cause. Once you have determined the areas that are causing you the most stress and anxiety, you can begin to think about ways to manage stress. If it's the clutter that is overtaking your home, then devote a weekend to clearing it out. If you find that is too overwhelming, call in a trusted friend or even a professional organizer to help you. If it is your job or a family member that is causing you large amounts of stress, and leaving is not an option, then you might need to find ways of controlling how you react to the stress, as opposed to trying to change that particular element in your life. Teenagers, for instance, can be pretty stressful and you can't exactly tell your teenage daughter to stop with the dramatics. Finding ways to manage stress can be a personal choice. Luckily, there is a wide array of options out there. Is there something that you enjoy doing that you find relaxing? It can be an activity that you do alone, or one that you do with other people. Reading, journal writing, meditating, practicing yoga, and bubble baths can all be beneficial ways of controlling stress. These methods can help reduce your heart rate and adrenalin, as well as lower your blood pressure. However, what works for one person might not necessarily work for you, so it's important to find the ways to manage stress that help you relax. Exercising can be a good way to manage stress, and it helps produce endorphins, which can also trigger happy emotions. Try adding 20 to 30 minutes of exercise into your life on a daily basis. This can be as simple as taking a walk around the block. Watching your diet is also among the helpful ways to manage stress. Try to limit your caffeine intake, as well as your intake of processed foods. Foods rich in vitamins B and E can be helpful in reducing stress. These can be found in leafy green vegetables, beans, nuts, and fruits. You can also find vitamins B and E in supplement form. Eating a well-balanced diet can not only improve your overall health, but can also help reduce your stress. Lastly, don't be afraid to walk away. If you find yourself in a stressful situation, then taking yourself out of the situation, either for a few minutes or permanently, is okay. Sometimes, taking a few minutes by yourself to catch your breath, count to 10, or get a drink of water is all you need to rejuvenate yourself. There are natural ways to manage stress. However, if you find that you are having anxiety attacks that are affecting your overall wellbeing or that you might have signs of depression, then it is best that you consult your health care practitioner. You can still continue to manage your stress naturally by attending counseling sessions and practicing stress-relieving activities.
