A note about About Yoga Poses and PositionsIn natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases. In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. Taking these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of certain holistic remedies. For beginners, initially, the study of yoga is limited to mastering the poses correctly. This may take a while, as beginners seldom have the flexibility and strength to hold the postures for a required amount of time in the same position. This can be accomplished with repetitive practise and discipline and over time, the body becomes stronger and more flexible. Beginner's yoga includes standing poses, seated and supine stretches, gentle backbends and balancing poses. Mastering these basic postures prepares the individual for the next stage of yoga, which is the intermediate level. Intermediate Level At the intermediate level, there are wide variety of yoga poses that will require greater strength, flexibility and balance. At this point, the individual aspirant will be gently introduced to some gravity-defying arm balances and inversions, which may seem impossible at first. Also, the standing poses and backbends from the Beginner's stage, will become more complex and challenging, but can be mastered through practise and discipline. Advanced Yoga Poses and Positions At the Advanced level, the individual will expand the physical limits of the body through challenging backbends and arm balances, inversions. These poses are difficult to master and only accomplished yoga practitioners are able to keep up this level of yoga and sustain practise consistently to maintain flexibility, strength and tone of musculature. Those that do master this level, enjoy immense health benefits and well being, physiologically, psychologically and biochemically, translating to longevity, energy, strength, rejuvenation and youthfulness. Other aspects of Yoga In addition to postures, breathing techniques and asanas (called kriyas, mudras bandhas and pranayama), yoga classes will frequently include call and response chanting, meditation, or an inspirational reading by the instructor.
